Sunday Worship

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2017 –  THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

               (9:00 AM – ST. PETER’S CAMPUS  -- 11:00 AM - LIGHT OF CHRIST CAMPUS)

Isaiah and the psalmist make clear that God is turning our mourning into laughter and shouts of joy. "All God's children got a robe" go the words of the spiritual. It is not so much a stately, formal, presssed outfit as it is a set of party clothes, clothes that make us feel happy just to put on. We receive that robe in baptism, and in worship we gather for a fortaste of God's party.

Readings and Psalm:

Isaiah 35:1-10

Psalm 146:5-10

James 5:7-10

Matthew 11:2-11

Stir up the wills of all who look to you, Lord God, and strengthen our faith in your coming, that, transformred by grade, we may walk in your way; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forev. Amen.
